You’ve got multiple presses firing off at once, which turns your electrical system into a bit of a chaotic mess. When you have several high-voltage ballasts crammed together, they start talking to each other in ways they shouldn’t. That electromagnetic interference is usually what causes that annoying flicker or, worse, kills your lamp way before its time. The secret to stopping the flicker We spend a lot of time obsessing over the electrical arc. To hit 80W/cm, you need a perfect marriage between the mercury vapor pressure and the power going in. We build our internal parts to soak up those voltage spikes that are so common in industrial grids. We also tweaked the electrode geometry and the gas fill to keep the arc locked right in the center. This means when the press next to you kicks into high gear, your lamp doesn’t start “hunting” or blinking. It just stays put. What this actually means for your prints Stability isn’t just a technical stat—it’s the difference between a perfect job and a waste of material. If your UV output dips for even a second because of interference, you’ll see it. You get those frustrating streaks or patches of uncured ink on your substrate. One thing you can’t ignore: The Heat Here is the catch. High power density creates a lot of heat. At 80W/cm, these lamps pump out a serious amount of infrared radiation along with the UV. You’ve got to have your cooling dialed in. If your exhaust fans aren’t actually pulling the heat away from the quartz glass, the lamp is going to overheat. It’s that simple. When that happens, the lifespan of the tube drops fast, and you risk the glass failing entirely. Keep the air moving. It’s the only way to actually get the hours you paid for out of the tube.
